They are apparently renaming the consumer release of the Java Runtime Environment to ‘Project Hamburg’.

Rich Burridge gives us some insight in this article as to why Sun thinks this is a good idea.

Apparently trademark considerations are one part behind this change and ‘Project + a location name’ seems to be good to avoid any legal clashes. Well i’d say at least it gives it some temporary ring to it. ;-)
